Tim Poe
Timothy Poe was born in Patuxent River, Maryland, son of a naval aviator. He enlisted in the Navy in 1989 and was sent to Auburn in the summer of 1991 to earn an Engineering degree. He graduated from Auburn University in 1994 with a BS in Materials Engineering. Tim spent the next 30 years in the United States Submarine Force including Command of Fast Attack Submarines USS SANTA FE (SSN 763) and USS KEY WEST (SSN 722) as well as serving as Commodore of Submarine Squadron 15 (Guam) and Commodore Submarine Squadron 21 (Bahrain). During this time, these ships completed eight deployments, including operations in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, and the Western Pacific. This also included combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He completed his career as Director of Operations for the Submarine Force Atlantic. Tim retired in December of 2024 after 35 years of Naval service. He currently works for KMS Solutions as the Program Manager supporting Strategic Submarines Program Office (PMS 396) and is also a Licensed Real estate Agent in Virginia concentrating on Real Estate Syndication. Tim is a graduate of Norwegian “Perisher” Submarine Command Course and the Air Force Command and Staff College. He holds a master’s degree in Engineering Management from Catholic University and a master’s degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University.
